Organization Overview:

Hope’s Crossing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring hope in the lives of women trying to overcome the barriers of success that result from incarceration. We are a community-based organization offers programs and services to support women as they strive towards re-entry into the community.

We are seeking 5 members to join our existing team of facilitators.

General Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the interrelatedness of poverty, social injustice, and incarceration and assist us in creating an environment in which clients feel valued, engaged, empowered and safe to heal. Responsible for administering the curriculum of our Fundamentals of Freedom program, elaborating upon the concepts discussed to ensure successful participant results.

Classes that will be facilitated include:

  • Unlocking secrets to who we are
  • In touch with emotions and triggers
  • Stress and Anger Managements
  • Controlling our environment
  • Setting boundaries and having a voice
  • Co-dependent behavior
  • Self Reflection
  • Forgiveness - healing the heart
  • Generational Pathology

Must Have skills necessary for consideration:

  • Ability to administer/establish curriculum for programs
  • Facilitating group sessions in a non-judgmental environment
  • Flexibility with curriculum and training schedule
  • Flexibility with personal availability to provide training as business demands/needs
  • Prior experience in group facilitation or training
  • ability to conduct independent research to remain current in business trends
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with coaching at risk adults
  • Ability to engage participants in the activities and balance out group discussion
  • Assess participants overcome challenges and barriers to successful re-entry
  • Ability to turn conflict into a learning opportunity

Preferred Skills - In addition to substantive work experience:

  • 3 years experience in group facilitation or training; or
  • 2 years experience in counseling or social work; and
  • 2 years experience mentoring or coaching adult and/or adolescent women

  • Good sense of humor
  • Strong sense of presence and self-awareness in a classroom setting
  • Enthusiastic and objective oriented presentation style
  • Passion for helping women and families overcome barriers
  • Understand the connection between education and a better life

Our organization helps women identify and overcome barriers to success, creating a plan to surpass her own unique challenges. With the support of a skilled case manager and a dedicated mentor, she will have all the tools needed to fulfill her journey of becoming whole and healthy. Life skills classes are designed to address the key issues facing women in a period of transition. Assistance and resources are provided free of cost to find safe housing and successful re-entry into the workforce. Our organization is filled with passionate women who create the safe environment needed for our clients to grow and reach their fullest potential.
