T his stipend eliglbe position is for the 2017-2018 school year and assists with Arc’s Adelante Networking Groups and with outreach and advocacy to the Spanish speaking community. This position provides administrative and logistical support to the team and assists with evaluations, protocol adjustments, expansion efforts and with other duties as needed.
Work is conducted in collaboration and under supervision of Youth and Adult Services Team, which includes attending monthly team meetings for updates, brainstorming, support and planning. Duties include:
Make reminder calls to families or support families who make calls to those who attend Adelante monthly group meetings; schedule/coordinate taxi rides as needed
Plan and facilitate childcare activities for Arc’s Minneapolis (2 nd Thursday of the month) and St. Paul (4 th Wednesday of the month) Adelante groups
Lead childcare activities with volunteers at monthly Adelante meetings; train new volunteers
Coordinate volunteer sign-in process night of Adelante meetings
Assist with volunteer recruitment for Adelante groups and establish community organization connections
Assist with logistics night of Adelante meetings; includes interacting with families
Must be available 6:30 - 8:30pm on the 2nd Thursday and 4th Wednesday of the month for the 2017-2018 academic year. Requires a 10-14 hours per week commitment for 2017-2018. Most work completed Monday-Friday between 8:30-5:00pm. An exit interview will also be conducted to gauge intern experience and to make recommendations for improvement. Includes a $1000 stipend in December and May or the utilization of work study if eligible.

The Arc helps people navigate systems while working to advance social change centered in justice, equity and belonging in community. Arc's Value Village is a public awareness and revenue generating vehicle for The Arc Minnesota. Arc's Value Village accepts clothing, housewares, art, media, books & related items and sells those items to the community.
