Friendly Visitor Volunteers As a companion volunteer, you can bring the gift of Community and Value to your patient. You will learn how to actively enhance the quality of life of your patient through your important Volunteer observational role on your patient's health care team, and through your regular visits offering support and companionship -- which all ensure your patient spends final days in dignity and comfort.
Vigil Volunteers Your primary role as a Heartland Vigil Volunteer is to be with patients who would otherwise be alone in their last hours of living, and offering comfort and companionship. As a Vigil Volunteer you will learn to provide helpful emotional support and presence to the patient and to the family at our patient’s bedside. There are many reasons that patients might die alone - but our Heartland Vigil Volunteer Team has decided to change all that:) We need you.
Vets for Vets "Honor Volunteers" Similar to the companion volunteer role, if you are a Vet we will match you with a veteran patient who may have a similar background. As a Heartland Honor Volunteer you will receive specific training focused on a veteran patient's unique needs. Join us. Be proud to serve our Vet patients.
Administrative/Clerical Volunteers Administrative or clerical skills? As a Hospice Admin Volunteer you can make a big difference by assisting with important chart organization, helping produce needed patient materials, plan patient visits and special events, clerical and phone tasks, and other organizational patient necessities. This role is crucial to our healthcare team and provides much needed assistance to our mission of serving each hospice patient well.
Volunteers will receive personalized and interactive Training with Ongoing educational opportunities.
