Friendly Visitor Volunteers Companion volunteers bring the gift of Community and Value to our patients. They enhance quality of life through regular visits by offering support, companionship and assistance with non-medical tasks to ensure that patients spend their final days in dignity and comfort.

Administrative/Clerical Volunteers Administrative volunteers make a big diffeence by assisting with important clerical and phone tasks, chart organization, helping produce needed materials, plan patient visits and events and other organizational tasks. This role is crucial to our healthcare team and provides much needed assistance to our mission of serving each hospice patient well.

Vigil Volunteers The primary role of a Heartland Vigil Volunteer is to be with patients who would otherwise be alone in their last hours of living, offering comfort and companionship. While our Vigil Volunteers do not assist with direct patient care, Heartland Vigil Volunteers can also provide helpful emotional support to the family when present at our patient’s bedside.

Vets for Vets Volunteers Similar to the companion volunteer role, our Veteran Volunteers are matched with a veteran patient who may have a similar background. These Honor Volunteers receive specific training focused on a veteran patient's unique needs.

Volunteers will receive interesting and interractive Training & Ongoing educational opportunities
