About Petersen Automotive Museum
Location:
6060 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036, US
Mission Statement
The Petersen Automotive Museum believes the car is more than four wheels and a transmission. We believe the car is defined by more than its horsepower and whether it's fuel-injected or carbureted. We believe the car is: a work of art - a shaper of cultural identity - a marvel of technology - a revolution in history. And we are looking for enthusiastic women and men who think so too. With the museum’s reopen in December 2015, we’re ready to explore the art, industry, and history of the car with visitors from all over the world. We're ready to connect families with interactive experiences in the Discovery Center, a hands-on space exploring the car’s science and art. We're ready to partner with schools across the Los Angeles area and connect Petersen collections with STEM and Common Core principles. We're ready to transform lives and excite people to change the way they view driving and environmental responsibility. We are ready to show the world the car is more than just a car.
Description
The Petersen Automotive Museum explores and presents the history of the automobile and its impact on American life and culture, with Los Angeles as the prime example, through 25 brand new galleries, 300+ historic vehicles in the collection, and innovative, interactive, family-focused programming.
