About

Thousands of endangered sea turtles nest on our beautiful beaches during nesting season (March to November) and we work in many different ways to conserve and protect them. Whilst most of the work is hands on work on the beach, such as patrolling, protecting, nest marking, data collection and rescue, there are also many other tasks such as administration that we need help with at our centre. We run reforestation projects, community projects, environmental education and recycling programs, so variety is definitely part of the job.

Fundación Yepez A.C. is a non-profit organization that has been protecting sea turtles in veracruz Mexico for 49 years. The organization is small and family run and we need all the help we can get to be able to protect this endangered species and implement all of the eco-projects that we run. We are looking for volunteers for a minimum of 2 months and there is no fee to volunteer with us. Shorter stays are welcome but include a fee, so please get in touch if you are interested. The cost for food and accommodation is MXN$1200MXN/week (around USD$70/week), there is no other fee, however all other expenses such as travel etc. must be covered by the volunteer. Please find more information about us on our website www.tortugasfundacionyepez.com (English/Volunteers) and contact us with any questions you might have on info@tortugasfundacionyepez.com The only requirements are good health, independency and a desire to help protect sea turtles and their environment and of course being in Mexico, speaking Spanish does help!
