School on Wheels

one on one

As always, School on Wheels is looking for volunteers to tutor homeless children and youth. The wonderful kids we serve are living in shelters and motels. Due to their transient lifestyles, many of these children miss months of school at a time. Help these kids get back on track by tutoring a student one hour a week. We believe that education is key to breaking the cycle of homelessness.

Volunteers are asked to commit 1 hour a week for a year, tutoring usually happens on weekdays between 3pm-7pm.

No experience is necessary - we provide training. The first step to becoming a tutor is to watch a 2-minute orientation video before completing an application. Watch our video here: http://bit.ly/SOWVolunteerMatch

Bilingual tutors in Spanish are always a plus!
