We are looking for student interns in the ORANGE COUNTY area to provide our terminally ill clients with companionship and other services through socialization.
This will be a 3 month internship for the qualified candidate. This program is to help students learn the dynamics of Hospice Care.
You will engage in the following:
-Hospice orientation and training and continued education
-Patient visitation
-Assist with family and patients psychosocial needs
-Joint visits with MSW and/or Spiritual Counselor
-Proper documentation
PLEASE NOTE: During your 3 month internship you will be required to take 2 days to make a visit to our office in GLENDALE for application process and evaluation purposes.
Once the 3 month period has ended we will conduct a performance evaluation and may consider for future hire.
Other Incentives include:
-Resume preparation
-Cerificate of excellence (based on performance)
-Letter of recommendation (based on performance, graduate program or for a job)

Hospice Volunteer Training is a program where we select qualified persons who can fit well with patients who have a terminal illness through several organizations. We match volunteers to Hospices where they will excel the most. We offer training and orientation, continued education for all volunteers, certificates of completion and excellence. Whether volunteers are students trying to gain experience or if you just want to give back to the community. We hope that we find individuals who can successfully achieve their goals and provide helpful assistance to Hospice organizations within the Los Angeles County.
Description
Hospice volunteers provide companionship to people living with a serious illness and help their families caregivers in a variety of ways. Hospice also rely on volunteers to help with office work, fund raising, community outreach and other operational areas.
