Thank you for considering volunteering with Alacare!
If you enjoy speaking with large groups and leading activities, consider becoming a Community Impact Volunteer with Alacare. As a goodwill ambassador, you can assist with programs that raise community awareness of our Hospice and Home Health Services. You will have the opportunity to connect with all age groups and assist in a variety of ways.
Public speaking and activity events may include health fairs, working with church and civic organizations/clubs, senior centers, schools and colleges, and Long Term Care Facilities
New volunteers are mentored by the Volunteer Coordinator until they feel comfortable and confident in providing assistance independently. Volunteers are never expected to assist with the personal care of patients and are assigned based on their interests and what tasks they feel they can easily accomplish.
Our volunteers set their own schedules and we work with you to make the most of your talents and time! If you have a heart for volunteering, please contact Alacare to find out more about this and other volunteer opportunities available.

Description
We of Encompass Health - Hospice are looking for kind individuals to help ease burdens of families going through difficult times.
At Encompass Health we foster a culture of compassion and collaboration encouraging and empowering each employee and volunteer to keep learning and growing together. Our compassionate end-of-life care is provided in the patient’s home, whether that is a home address, nursing home, assisted living community, independent living community or other location. It focuses on the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of both the individual patient and our patients’ loved ones: caregivers, spouses, children, extended family and friends.
Our experienced team understands the complexity of issues and feelings that surround hospice care and end of life. Our care process is designed to maximize our patient’s quality of life and offer our patients and their love ones comfort, support and guidance when facing a terminal illness
Our Goal is to provide a sense of dignity and peace for our patients, while controlling pain, minimizing discomfort and managing symptoms. We also prioritize emotional and spiritual needs, guiding our patients and their loved one through the end-of-life process.
