We are currently looking for volunteers to assist us in theaters around the DC Metro area during our 36th annual festival this April 21 - May 1. Volunteer shifts last between 4-5 hours. They take place during weeknights after 5:30pm and starting after 12 noon on weekends.
We realize just how important volunteers are to the success of the Filmfest every year and we are grateful for the interest you’ve shown. Complete an application on our website http://filmfestdc.org/volunteer.cfm to volunteer today!
In exchange for two completed shifts, you get a complimentary ticket to watch one of the films and a t-shirt to identify you to festival goers! Because of the nature of the tasks required, we recommend you volunteer at a different date than the film you wish to watch, so you can enjoy the film in its entirety.
Filmfest DC is grateful for our incredible team of volunteers who make our event so fantastic from year to year! We would not be able to present Filmfest DC without the help of our community. Volunteers help us usher guests inside theaters, help with the box office, collect tickets, hand out and receive ballots for audience choice awards and much more.
We will be getting in touch with our volunteer closer to the festival to schedule some orientation events in person.

Description
Now in its 34th year, The Washington, DC International Film Festival brings the finest in contemporary world cinema to the nation's capital.
The festival has introduced over 1,000 feature and short films from over 55 countries to an ever-growing audience. Filmfest DC is an 11-day annual festival presenting more than 60 feature premieres, restored classics and special events to the general public. The majority of Filmfest DC presentations are Washington, DC premieres.
The festival is a District-wide event, bringing together the city's film community in a spirit of cooperation and celebration. It is one of the longest running major cultural events in Washington, DC and credited with thought-provoking, insightful and entertaining programming.
