3HC Home Health and Hospice is seeking volunteers in the Johnston County/Smithfield area to open their hearts. Hospice Volunteers provide companionship, respite, emotional, and spiritual support for patients as well as family members in their greatest time of need. Volunteers provide support to patients by reading, sharing stories, holding a hand, or simple just being there. Volunteers with clerical skills can serve hospice by helping staff with administrative duties such as answering the phone or greeting friends and family at the door.
All volunteers are required to complete an application, submit to a criminal background check, drug test, and tuberculin skin test. This is at no cost to the volunteer. To ensure that volunteers are equipped to work with hospice, all volunteers complete a training program.
