Become A Hospice Volunteer with Brookhaven Hospice
Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for terminally ill patients and their families. All volunteers receive specialized training and ongoing support and are an integral part of the hospice team of caregivers.
Help make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families!
On your own time. In your own way. With your special skills. Help to make every moment matter.
Patient Care Volunteers
Support could include: companionship and caregiver relief, reading, listening, running errands, grocery shopping, and craft projects.
Provide special therapies such as Reiki, aromatherapy, pet therapy and music therapy
Administrative and Bereavement Volunteers
Support could include: clerical support, assistance with mailings, follow-up calls to bereaved, recognizing birthdays and anniversaries, etc.
Are you a Veteran? Join our Veterans Helping Veterans Program!
We are recruiting Volunteers who have served in the Military to help our hospice patients who are Veterans
Veterans may have unique needs at end of life
Your experience helps you relate to and connect with our Veteran patients and their families
Volunteers may be required to have an updated Physical, pass a background check and drug test.
