At the Central Kitchen (MOWP headquarters) you would particpate in the daily production of 4000 - 5000 nutritious meals to be distributed to our dining centers and delivered to homebound seniors across the tri-county area.

General Responsibilities:

• Work with kitchen staff to support efficient production of meals
• Assist with pre-plate program / cold packs
• Dishwashing
• Baking / salad prep

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Arrive at the center on time (if unable to attend, please notify center manager)
• Dress appropriately for serving food:
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Long pants
  • No sleeveless shirts
  • Long hair must be pulled back from face
  • Watch / cell phone must be placed in pocket or in a locker provided by supervisor
• Wear hairnets, light weight chef coat, and disposable gloves (provided by supervisor)
• Responsible to prepare bakery, salad, and bread pre-plated items for distribution into individual meal trays
• Learn production lines, maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards while in production

Average Time Commitment:

• Can vary depending upon the needs of the center (typically 3-4 hours)

Age Requirements/Limitations:

• No one under the age of 14 may work in the kitchen without a parent/gaurdian

Minimum Qualifications:

• Reliable self-starter able to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Able to work well with others in a team-oriented atmosphere
• Able to perform multiple repetitive movements
• Requires standing for the entire shift
• Must be clean and appropriately dressed for food service production
• Able to lift 25lbs
• Support the Meals on Wheels People mission and agency activities
