Searching for Board members who will serve as a trusted advisor to the executive director as s/he develops and implements the organization's strategic plan. Board members will consider Catholic Guardian Services a philanthropic priortiy and make annual gifts that reflect that priority. Applicants should be available for a minimum of 4 in-person meetings annually for an initial term of 3 years. Board members are asked to serve on one or two committees, dependent upon their skills, interest and availability. Selected Board members will have achieved leadership stature in business, government, philanthropy, or the non-profit sector. Given the organizations' faith-based mission, s/he will have a religious affiliation and involvement that is consonant with the Roman Catholic faith and a commitment to service. Expected personal philanthropy to Catholic Guardian Services on an annual basis is a minimum of $7,500.

Description
Catholic Guardian Services, founded in 1899, is a multi-service human service organization, sponsored by Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of NY. We provide child abuse and neglect prevention, foster care, adoption, youth employment readiness, maternity services, parenting education, shelter care for unaccompanied minors, and services for people with developmental disabilities.
