Looking for a fulfilling volunteer opportunity that combines your love for animals with your passion for helping others? Look no further than our non-profit counseling center in Arvada, CO!

Located on a beautiful 3-acre farm, our center is home to over 30 resident animals that have all been rescued or re-homed by us. These amazing creatures play a critical role in helping our clients overcome mental and behavioral health issues, many of whom are under the age of 18 and have suffered abuse or trauma.

To continue providing this vital service to our community, we're seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with animal care, cage cleaning, feeding, and farm preparation. No experience is necessary - just a willingness to learn and a passion for making a difference.

Volunteers must be able to commit to a minimum of 6 months and pay a one-time $30 enrollment fee. In return, you'll gain hands-on experience caring for a variety of animals, make a positive impact on the lives of our clients, and become part of a supportive and welcoming community.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to give back and make a real difference in the lives of those in need. Apply today to join our team!

Mission Statement

At AATPC, we believe that everyone deserves access to the healing power of animals. Our mission is to provide animal-assisted psychotherapy to clients of all ages, regardless of income level, insurance status, or life circumstances. On a 3-acre ranch in Arvada, CO serves as the perfect setting for our unique type of counseling. With the assistance of our recused therapy animals - including dogs, cats, horses, goats, rabbits, and even rats - clients work in partnership with these animals and a therapist to achieve their therapy goal

Description

Since our founding in 2010 by Linda Chassman and Ellen Winston, we have remained committed to helping those in need. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we are able to make our services accessible to all, including those who may not have the means to pay. Our program is specifically designed to serve economically, physically, and/or mentally disadvantaged individuals and families.

In addition to our animal-assisted psychotherapy services, we also offer professional training, in-person trainings, an online Certificate in Animal Assisted Psychotherapy, agency consultation and training, and group or individual consultation.

We invite you to come experience the powerful healing effect of our therapy animals and join us in our mission to make the benefits of animal-assisted psychotherapy accessible to all.
