ORGANIZATION: Bristol Hospice - Stockton

Looking for retired or off duty law enforcement members to team up with nurses. Having someone who is available to partner with our dedicated nurses while them serve those in their care. They will escort on-call nurses on late night visits to patients. This wiill provide extra security to those who take care of others.

The team members will rotate nightly. The more members the less frequently each member would need to be on call. Late night calls do not occur on a regular basis.



Minimum age requirement to volunteer with Optimal Hospice is 16 years old.

Description

Bristol Hospice provides hospice services to meet the physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of individuals at the end of life. We focus on an individualized plan of care which may include, as appropriate, the following services: nursing, physicians, hospice aides, spiritual support, therapy, dietary, counseling, volunteers, durable medical equipment, supplies, bereavement services and medications related to the terminal illness.

Volunteers are an important part of the hospice model. Volunteers provide special compassionate presence and support to our patients and family in ways that only a volunteer can. When a volunteer visits a patient, they are visiting the patient because they want to be there. It's not a job or an obligation. That is a powerful action for our patients and families!
