Friends of Daggerwing Nature Center is expanding its gift shop hours! We are now seeking part-time volunteer sales people to fill open positions in our store. Gift Shop volunteers help visitors select and purchase nature-inspired, fun and educational merchandise, as well as stock/replenish items when needed. Our gift shop is inside Daggerwing Nature Center, a Palm Beach County facility located in Burt Aaronson South County Park in West Boca Raton. We have openings in our gift shop Wednesday through Friday afternoons and some Saturdays. We offer a fun and friendly atmosphere to work, learn, and make new friends.
Details:
- We ask our volunteers to commit to one 2-hour shift per week.
- No experience is needed. All training is provided.
- Volunteers get a 15% discount on gift shop merchandise.
- Complimentary membership in our Friends’ organization is included, with free admission to all Friends’ programs and events.
All proceeds from gift shop sales go directly to supporting the educational programs, community events, and resident animals at Daggerwing Nature Center. Consider joining us!

The mission of Daggerwing Nature Center is to encourage an appreciation for our natural environment through education and demonstration, in an effort to inspire individuals to become personally involved in the conservation of south Florida's natural resources.
Description
Daggerwing Nature Center is set within the beautiful confines of South County Regional Park in western Boca Raton. Features include a 3,000 sq ft exhibit hall with live animals and interactive state-of-the-art exhibits, classroom facilities, laboratory, lobby, reading area, and an elevated 6/10-mile boardwalk which takes you on a relaxing journey through 40 acres of swamp habitat. The boardwalk has two trails, bench-style seating, as well as an observation tower available for you to view the abundant plant and animal life. Nature Center staff offer a variety of educational, interactive programs to people of all ages.
