Focus: Mentor women (who have barriers to employment) in sales and customer service
It is tempting to solve their problems. This is not mentoring. By solving their problems you take away their opportunity to become educated, and their ability to solve problems for themselves. People learn best when they face new challenges, in addition, they gain the skills to solve other, more difficult, problems. It builds self-esteem and the belief they can handle any situation once they are on their own. (n.d.). Retrieved from http://www.streetdirectory.com/travel_guide/print_article.php?articleId=22058

Mission Statement
The Catholic Charities Refugee and Immigrant services Department was founded on the scriptural values of Justice and Mercy, to enhance the quality of life for our refugee families, and to advocate for their rights.
Description
The Refugee and Immigrant Services Department houses a number of programs all geared towards refugee assistance and self-sufficiency. Fleeing their homes from persecution or war, we feel that refugees have a right to live their lives openly without fear of persecution. We have developed our programs around this ideology. They are all designed to help refugees find gainful employment, develop their English skills, find them housing, and acculturate them to their new surroundings.
