Volunteer Bill Payers provide assistance to elderly and disabled individuals who need help managing their finances. Bill Payers ensure that an elders' bills are paid on time and essential needs are met.

Responsibilities include

  • sorting mail,
  • organizing bills,
  • monitoring income and expenses,
  • developing budgets and
  • writing checks for the elder's signature.

This is an essential service that enables seniors and people with disabilities to continue to stay in their own homes and communities. Volunteers primarily work with elders in their homes. Volunteers are screened, trained, supervised and insured.

Our mission is to assist elders and disabled persons to remain safely in their own homes through the provision of in-home and community based services designed to prevent unnecessary nursing home placement.

Description

Montachusett Home Care Corporation (MHCC) is a not-for-profit agency that offers a variety of home care programs to elders and disabled persons living in 21 cities and towns in Northern Worcester county. Our services include information and referral, options counseling, home care services, alternative housing, adult protective services and volunteer programs. Our volunteer opportunities include an Ombudsman Program, a Volunteer MedicalTtransport, a Senior Companion Program and a Money Management Program.
