Senior Social Club is a Parks & Recreation 20+ year program that addresses the need for senior adults who have physical, memory, hearing or vision limitations to be with one another and engage in an atmosphere that is fun and interactive. It is a social recreation program through physical and mental activities, such as music, art/crafts, dance, exercise, guest speakers and educators.
Providing a wide variety of activities in a structured manner to keep the program lively is important to the well-being of the participants. The mission is to provide a safe and stimulating environment for older adults and to give caregivers respite time.
Volunteers will help organize and facilitate daily games and activities, set up and take down the room, and serve lunch. It is important that volunteers can be trained or have some experience working with senior adults who have memory and other limitations. You will have a direct impact on the quality of lives of our participants while they are in the program.
