Non Paid Part Time Social Work Intern

Are you a college student interested in international social work and nonprofit management? The Kiran Anjali Project(KAP) is seeking a non paid intern to help facilitate the summer youth program in Burlingame, Hillsborough, and Saratoga, CA and assist with the daily operations of running a small volunteer run nonprofit. All work will be supervised by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Here are the requirements:

  • Completed one year of college
  • Available to work 10 hours per week, flexible hours except for youth group meeting dates beginning mid June-mid August
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Creative and energetic
  • Able to work independently on assigned projects
  • Passionate about global women’s issues
  • Resides in the SF Bay Area

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Co facilitate and project manage Teen KAP meetings which occur in the evenings several times during the summer in Pennisula Bay Area, CA
  • Nonprofit management tasks as interest dicatates
  • Contribute to research file on education of girls in the developing world

Description

The Kiran Anjali Project is a new, small nonprofit with operations in Seattle Washington and the San Francisco Bay Area in California. It was founded by two women who share a passion for global women's issues. The organization is run by a dedicated group of women who volunteer their time. KAP does not have any paid staff. The organization sponsors educational programs in India through fundraising in the US. The first sponsored program is Wings School for Girls in Hyderabad, India. Wings provides a free secular education and two meals a day for 150 girls from the poorest families in the region.
