The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. This volunteer will be training to go into hospice patients home setting and teach them how to use an iPod. This role also allows you to perform an introduction to the music program and find out what the pateint enjoys listening to and then upload that music onto a personal iPod provided by Alacare. All required training is covered by Alacare including basic Alacare training, drug screen, background check, 2 step TB skin test and Hep. B vaccine. This volunteer will be mentored by the volunteer and community relations coordinator until comfortable and confident to be independent.
