AWEE Mentors are special to us!

AWEE is actively recruiting women to mentor other women as they re-enter society, work and reunify with family. Reentry Mentoring is a comprehensive program that seeks to decrease recidivism and create stability for women being released from incarceration by providing post-release support. These programs provide a number of services for these women revolving around mentoring. We assist women in achieving security both professionally and economically by providing gender specific, comprehensive, wrap around services - with trained mentors at the core - to reduce recidivism and create stability for women offenders and their families.

AWEE trains Mentors in successful mentoring best-practices and provides support for both Mentor and Mentee. Mentors have the opportunity to actually experience a Mentoring Circle for the first 30 minutes of the orientation. AWEE’s Mentors offer Mentees valuable advice, experience, skill development, communication skills, new perspectives, networking and career advancement through goal setting and other proven techniques. This two hour session will both orient you about the program and provide some basic skills training for mentoring. We are also open to phone inquiries to Doreen at 602-601-7209.

You will need to pass and self-fund an AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card (approx. $70) of provide a copy of a currently valid card to become a mentor.

Mission Statement

AWEE changes lives through the dignity of work

Description

Every program and every service at AWEE is designed to prepare our participants for work, help them find and keep jobs, develop their self-esteem and be inspired by their own success. AWEE’s focus- our only focus - is workforce development: helping Arizonans find jobs, keep their families together, become financially independent and contribute to their community .

Since 1981, as Arizona’s premiere nonprofit workforce development organization, AWEE has used research-based, results-driven programs and services to teach and coach participants and connect them to job opportunities.

Among the more than 200,000 women and men we have helped are underserved populations including veterans, domestic violence survivors young adults and mature workers.

AWEE provides the tools for change, independence, self-reliance and community revitalization to advance Arizona’s workforce. Providing someone with the opportunity to earn dignity through work is giving them the power to change their life.

The bottom line -
AWEE's focus is people and jobs!
