Want to show an animal love and affection, but cannot keep one forever? Become a foster parent and lose the long-term responsibility. We save dogs and puppies (sometimes momma dogs with very young puppies) from the City of Dallas shelter whose time is up and they will be euthanized - so you will be literally saving a life! Because we do not have a permanent shelter facility, we need temporary homes where our animals can live until they find their permanent homes. There is NO cost to you. We provide all medical care, heartworm preventative, flea/tick medications, leashes, collars, tags, etc..If you need to borrow a crate, we can provide that as well.
If you need help providing food we can take care of that as well. We always need long term foster parents but even if you are willing to help out in an emergency by fostering for a couple of weeks to a month, please contact us. We need foster parents for both dogs and puppies, large and small. And if you have no dogs and can provide isolation from other dogs for a week or two, that is desperately needed for new intakes.

Mission Statement
Paws In The City is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization committed to ending the abuse, neglect and overpopulation of Dallas area dogs and cats. Our goal is that every adoptable dog and cat get a loving home. By providing money for spay/neuter and increasing the adoption rate, we take the first step in making Dallas a no kill city.
Description
- Paws In The City has spent over 5 years rescuing and healing the abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and cats of our community. We focus on rescuing dogs and cats from the City of Dallas municipal shelter because they must euthanize almost 30,000 animals every year. We hope to make a difference.
- We currently do not have a shelter, but utilize foster homes and boarding facilities to board the animals in our care until a forever home can be found. Therefore we do not have employee or shelter related costs. Every dollar raised goes to foster, adoption, training, medical and spay/neuter programs.
Programs
**Rescuing, fostering and adopting dogs and cats through our foster and adoption programs
** Providing a Medical Assistance Fund which offers the public help with expensive surgeries or treatments that they could not afford on their own (for qualified applicants only)
