Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
We are seeking volunteers that can work once or twice per week to sort and price our seasonal assortment of holiday merchandise which is donated year-round. Consumer knowledge of household items and holiday goods as well as an eye for merchandising helps this department run smoothly and efficiently.
Standing, bending, kneeling, light lifting, fine motor skills to manipulate hangers and use pricing guns. The ability to communicate with team members and customers.

MITS is a nonprofit business that values a culture of community involvement, volunteer skills development, and reducing our community footprint on the planet through resale; the best form of recycling. As a bustling group of 65 volunteers, management team and work study students, we are proud that we provide the major source of funding for the City of Mercer Island’s department of Youth & Family Services (MIYFS).
