Do you have a certified pet therapy animal? We have special people just waiting for your visit!
Bring your unique brand of joy on your pet therapy team visits with hospice patients, their families, hospice staff, and facility staff. Make a difference with your pet's soft touch or cold nose, bring to life memories of a patient's pets, distracting them from their illness or pain, and simply be in the moment with a sense of calm.
Hospice volunteering is not for everyone but if you have a caring heart and compassion for those on their end of life journey or have had personal experience with a loved one on hospice care, this volunteer opportunity just might be a great fit and very rewarding for you and your pet therapy animal.
East Valley Hospice is seeking certified pet therapy teams (Pet Partners, Alliance for Therapy Dogs, Therapy Dogs International, or any nationally recognized therapy animal certifying agency) to become part of a dynamic group of hospice volunteers. You will need to provide proof that your animal has liability insurance, is up to date on vaccinations, is bathed and clean prior to visit. The owner must attend our volunteer training sessions and the pet is welcome to attend with you. All human volunteers are required to have a TB test, drug screening and criminal background check which is provided and paid for by East Valley Hospice.
