The Beachtown Charities Thrift Store, in the Nelscott area of Lincoln City, Oregon, is open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It takes a lot of volunteers to keep the Thrift Store fresh, clean, inviting, and fun to visit. We hope to expand to 4 days a week - Thursday through Sunday, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm - which will require many more volunteers. You pick the day(s) of the week you want to volunteer, and whether you want to work a full day (10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), the early shift (10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.) or the later shift (1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
There are two major areas in which to volunteer:
1. Intake: receive donated items, sort them, price them, and bring them out to the store area for sale
2. Sales: greet customers, arrange items on shelves, input transactions into a cash register, and bag the customer's items
We would like new volunteers to first start out in the Intake area to become accustomed to the types of items received, quality checks, and average prices. You can remain in Intake, if you like, or you can move to Sales.
