ORGANIZATION: Crime Stoppers of Minnesota

  • 7 people are interested

We are seeking former or retired law enforcement professionals who want to serve their former colleagues through our nonprofit and actively supportive organizationin the role of a Crime Tip Analyst (CTA). The knowledge you possess will be useful in determining where to send the information we receive about crimes and fugitives. Through our technology we receive information from members of the public who want to remain anonymous but still "do the right thing" by submitting information that may be useful in solving a crime. This virtual position lets you work from home, your cabin or wherever. You will receive an email notification that a tip has been sent, then open it up in our software to review, type a brief reply and select the appropriate agency to send it to. 98% of the agencies sent to are in Minnesota so we seek a person in Minnesota or that is familiar with the state to know names of cities and counties as well and landmarks. Our software makes it easy to use with drop-down menus and a database. In addition to being a former sworn Officer we seek those who take pride in clear communications, accurate statements and spelling. We reqeust that you either live in Minnesota now or worked in Minnesota when you were in law enforcement as this assures that you are familiar with the counties, cities and counties of the state.

CTA's will coordinate with Board Member who are Sworn Officers.

Mission Statement

Crime Stoppers of Minnesota’s mission is to assist law enforcement in solving crimes with the help of anonymous tips provided by members of the general public. We seek to make the neighborhoods and communities a safer place to live and work. We provide the people of Minnesota with a safe alternative to silence.

Description

Crime Stoppers of Minnesota provides the public with the ability to submit information about crimes and fugitives in a manner that keeps them anonymous, and offers a cash reward for information when it leads to a felony arrest. We submit those tips to law enforcement agencies across the entire State of Minnesota for investigation. We are an all-volunteer organization using advanced technology to receive tips, forward them to law enforcement, communicate anonymously with tipsters, as well as conduct all other operational functions of a nonprofit organization. Our Board members are doers to help us operate as a responsible nonprofit and critical thinkers to keep us viable to our stakeholders of the public, law enforcement and the media.
