About ACCESS OF WEST MICHIGAN

Location:

1700 28TH ST SE, GRAND RAPIDS, MI 49508, US

Mission Statement

Celebrating the activity of God in our midst, Access strengthens and develops wholistic solutions to poverty by cultivating equitable systems through education and collaboration.

Description

Access of West Michigan accomplishes work through three pillar initiatives: Good Food Systems, Congregation Connections, and Poverty Education.

The Good Food Systems initiative works with local farms and healthy food coalitions to ensure equitable, fair, and affordable distribution of Good Food among low-income communities and provides educational tools and resources with self-sufficiency goals in mind.

Congregation Connections works to connect with local congregations to offer casework services and benevolence training to help congregations create strong community programs and provide effective services to the people they serve.

Poverty Education works primarily through Poverty Education Workshops. The workshops are targeted mainly to churches, businesses, and schools who want to gain an understanding of the living conditions and struggles of those living in poverty so that they can be of better service to their community.
