  • 8 people are interested

Acts Of Kindness Cabaret is a small, but mighty, non-profit organization with a great big heart. Our mission to is help other non-profits raise significant funds by offering up our performances as fundraising events. To date, our performance events have raised over $365,000 for a variety of Chicago-area non-profits. We are seeking someone with professional expertise in Marketing/PR to round out our Board resources. This is a working Board, which meets quarterly at our Wheeling headquarters (virtually, during COVID). Board members are also expected to volunteer at some our of performances throughout the year (not during COVID), as well as participate in various other projects. We are an informal, but serious-minded, group. Easy to get along with, and fun to work with.

About Acts Of Kindness Cabaret

Mission Statement

Acts Of Kindness Cabaret is a performing arts non-profit fueled by exceptional talent. Believing in the inspiring power of simple kindness and the artistic value of cabaret, it is our mission to help other Chicago-area non-profits raise funds and cultivate donors by providing professional, entertaining cabaret events almost entirely free of charge while, at the same time, increasing the audience for modern cabaret.

We offer 1- and 2-hour professional, family-friendly cabaret shows as benefit events. In addition to the performance itself, we provide sound and lighting equipment, technical staff, set-up crew, ushers, printed programs, and a host of other services along the way. So, we're a little bit like a fundraising event in a box.

We work with each benefiting organization to find a suitable venue and to promote their event, primarily to their supporters. The benefiting organizations sell tickets and, less reimbursing us our nominal expenses, keep all the proceeds.

We fulfill the artistic portion of our mission by fulfilling the philanthropic one, and vice versa. It is simple kindness from us to the non-profit community and those they serve.
