The Rotary Club of Washington, D.C.’s Duck Race is a fun event and festival that brings the community together in support of local non-profits and organizations. Members of the community will be able to sponsor numbered, floating toy ducks that will participate in a race on a contained course along the Anacostia River, with funds supporting the Rotary Club and community organizations. In addition to prizes for the winning ducks, participants will enjoy music, entertainment, food, a Kids Zone, activities and much more!
We are looking for volunteers to assist with set up, logistics, the Duck Race, the Duck Festival, and clean up.
Festival Setup (10 Volunteers) (8am-10:30am) Assist with setting up the event. This will include putting up signage, moving tables and chairs, and more.
DC Duck Race Guide (10 Volunteers) (10:15am-2:00pm) Volunteers will be positioned in the area to provide directions to the DC Duck Race and Festival.
DC Duck Greeters (4 Volunteers, each shift) (10:30am-1pm; and 1-3pm) V olunteers are needed to greet and provide information to participants.
Kid Zone Volunteer (20 volunteers, each shift) (10:30am-1pm; and 1-3pm) Volunteers are needed to assist in the Kids Zone.
Duck Retrieval and Washers (10 Volunteers) (1:45pm-4pm) Volunteers are needed to help get the ducks out of the river, and bring them to the "Duck Wash". Volunteers will then count and wash the ducks. This will take place at the finish line of the race.
Festival Tear-down (6 volunteers) (3:30pm-5pm) V olunteers will help take down signs, and package merchandise.
