ORGANIZATION: Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 9 people are interested

Throughout history, thousands of men and women have served in the United States military armed forces, putting aside regard for themselves. They leave behind family and friends because they chose to defend our country and its ideals; peace, freedom, justice, opportunity and individualism. They are just dreams without someone to turn these ideals into reality.

At Crossroads Hospice, we want to recognize the sacrifices that many of our patients have made in serving their country. In doing so, we have created a Veterans Recognition Program. Interested volunteers would present a Certificate of Appreciation to Veterans who are receiving care from Crossroads Hospice and spend time sharing their experiences in the armed forces.

Become a member of our dedicated team of volunteers who help provide extra love and comfort to terminally ill patients and their families. You decide how much time you can devote and we can match your interests and schedule. You will receive specialized training conducted by the members of our team. Some of this training may be completed on your own time in the comfort of your own home.

We have patients in Delaware, Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.

Mission Statement

Our Mission Crossroads is committed to being at the forefront of the hospice care industry, to continually shape the way palliative and hospice care are viewed and administered so that everyone can expect more.

Description

Description:

Crossroads cares for patients with life limiting illnesses as well as provides support on many levels to loved ones and caregivers. The staff and volunteers at Crossroads Hospice believe that we live until the day we die, and the quality of our life is important even though we are ill. Crossroads Hospice provides a team approach to care that provides medical, psychological, social, and spiritual care.

What makes us different from other Hospice programs is that we ask ourselves every day the question, "why not?" This question helps us to find new and better ways to deliver hospice care to patients, families, caregivers, and health care professionals alike. It helps us connect with our communities, share our knowledge, be accessible 24/7, innovate, lead, and raise the bar. "Why Not?" has helped us create a hospice experience we believe is second to none....and we are confident you’ll agree.
