Junior Board Members WANTED
Job Description (begin process now) Adults who care about our mission and willing to volunteer their time!. Someone who can make a commitment to help our organization achieve it's goals. A person who will work within our framework and cooperate with others. A person who can be a part of things, identify how they can fit in, work on things the board wants accomplished in a harmonious manner.
Education is great but not the most important thing. If the person has skills and communicates effectively- that is best. Good written and verbal skills appreciated. This person can communicate well, make it to monthly meetings, chair a committee, participate in fundraising, and spread the word about our organization. Board members also help locate new board members and represent the organization in a positive way.
This person should be able to take on being a volunteer board member and have room in their schedule for it. We are looking for people who really want to make being a board member a priority! Our board members find social justice issues important, and support peace and diversity.
Desired Skills & Experience (will then attend orientation, then volunteer, interview, ) mature, have enough time to volunteer, good communication skills, good networking skills, able to make a commitment, good time management skills.
Company Description - Volunteer board members wanted for small non-profit helping under-represented people through art, discussion, and social justice education. Formed in 1984, this grassroots organization is especially interested in supporting personal goals of self-improvement and giving through our seven programs- women's residence, art gallery, art studio, community art program, gardening & nurture, have studio will travel, & youth peace program.
