WPF is looking for volunteers for the web developer role to take over the coding design conception, layout and functionality for our website from the home page to the layout. He/she will be responsible for
- Writing well designed, testable and efficient code using best web development practices
- Creating user interface or website layout with standard HTML/CSS
- Integrating data from a variety of backend data bases
- Refining specifications based on technical needs
- Being responsible for maintaining and scaling our site
- Cooperate with web designers to create user friendly and efficient visual intent
Requirements
- Proven experience in web development and programming
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS best practices
- Familiarity with one or more of the following programming languages: PHP, ASP.NET, Javascript, Ruby on Rails
- Solid knowledge of how database systems work
- Basic knowledge of on page SEO

We are creating a global community that is actively working towards peace. One by one and together, we can all make a difference. We believe that peace building has to be holistic. This is why we combine educational publications, educational initiatives, ongoing educational outreach programs, worldwide initiatives and programs with our partners and global events to have a holistic and systemic impact to reach a critical mass of individual around the globe that will serve as an army of peacemakers.
Description
We are a completely volunteer-based organization. We are committed to making this world a better place, driven by the vision that one day we can achieve peace for humanity and for this planet.
We know this is an audacious goal, but we are motivated and inspired by the goal of creating a critical mass of practical idealists, of dreamers who get things done. After all, what would this world be without dreamers?
We believe that this world needs more of these dreamers and more people with big visions for they will truly make this world a more peaceful place.
Since we are a completely volunteer-based organization, not one of our core team or staff members receives any salary or monetary compensation for what they do. This includes our founders and our chairman.
We direct any donation we receive directly to the cause or project it is meant for after a small percentage is used to cover overhead expenses. That’s it. World Peace is challenging enough, let’s keep our organization simple.
