Organizational Description:

The Children’s Creativity Museum in San Francisco is an innovative art and technology experience for kids of all ages. Our mission is to nurture Creativity and Collaboration in all children and families. We believe that creative expression, innovation, and critical thinking are core to fostering the next generation.

Commitment:

  • Minimum 15 hours per week (9:30am - 4:30pm two days per week, Tuesday-Sunday)
  • Orientation will be Tuesday, May 29th 2018
  • In addition to Orientation, mandatory training and professional development workshops will be held on four different Mondays: June 4th, June 11th, June 18th and June 25th (10am-4pm)
  • Applicants must be able to commit to the full internship from Orientation through September 2nd, 2018

Compensation:

  • Unpaid: college credit when applicable

General Responsibilities:

  • Assist with and facilitate Creative Group Workshops
  • Assist with summer camp programming and special workshops
  • Work with Educators during General Admission hours to teach basic, intermediate and advanced art and technology skills to youth and families
  • Prepare, maintain and troubleshoot equipment and supplies in the exhibit/production areas? identify and report status of exhibits and supplies
  • Responsible for opening and closing the museum floor and reporting on all issues related to running the museum.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in art, education, STEAM education, museum studies, or media studies desired
  • Experience working with children
  • Good computer skills, ability or interest to learn and teach new software
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or Tagolog a plus
  • Experience working with families and community groups a plus
