Escort Volunteers provide manpower in assisting hospital personnel in meeting the needs of patients. Volunteer shifts are Monday - Friday 8 am to Noon, and Noon to 4 pm. Looking for volunteers that are m ature, positive and service-oriented individuals; have the physical ability to withstand long periods of walking and standing. Must be able to communicate clearly in English, but bilingual skills are helpful; Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; knowledge of effective infection control procedures; assertiveness-must be comfortable approaching busy staff members. Training is a s determined by the Chief, Volunteer Service. Volunteer responsibilities: Sign in, wear proper uniform and ID badge. Take calls for service requests. Transport patients (in accordenc with transport policies). Pick up and deliver specimens, medical records; run general errands as needed by hospital staff and patients.

Information desk volunteers greet and provide aid, direction and information to patients, visitors, and staff. volunteer shifts are Monday - Friday: 8 am to Noon; and Noon to 4 pm. Qualifications: Demonstrate good verbal communication skills. Volunteers should be mature, positive, service-oriented individuals. Good organizational and telephone skills. Maintain confidentiality of clients. Must be willing to learn and develop in a fast-paced professional setting. Have the ability to take the initiative and be flexible, assuming different roles as needed to provide comfort for patients and families in lobby waiting areas. Volunteers must be tactful in dealing with difficult people. Maintain good judgment at all times and dependable. Training Will be provided, by staff. Volunteers are expected to sign in, wear proper uniform and ID badge. Greet public in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Give specific directions and instructions to patients and visitors. Volunteers will have the use of the computer, daily print-out census sheet, Voluntary Directory Manual. Pass out information literature to patients and visitors. Provide books/magazines to patients and visitors waiting. Help people who seem confused or lost to find the correct department for care. Maintain information and procedure manuals. Volunteers are responsible for keeping up on all changes that would affect his/her ability to give out information. Assist in locating and returning wheelchairs to Information Desk.

Recreation Assistant Volunteer will assist recreation staff with activities for patients in the Skilled Nursing Facility. Volunteer shifts are flexible. Qualifications: Mature, service-oriented individual, maintain confidentiality, reliable, ability to take initiative in providing support. Must be able to work with diverse population and must be able to communicate clearly in English. Training: As determined by the Chief of Volunteer Services. Responsibilities: Sign In, Wear ID Badge. Provide assistance and support to Recreation Staff (games, music, activities, etc)
