Energetic volunteers of all ages needed to play alongside children with special needs & help Camp Director transition through activities during camp for younger children with special needs!
Special Track Out Camp will be held Mon-Fri from October 17th - 21st, 2pm-6pm. We are looking for energetic volunteers to: parallel play, provide true companionship, assist as needed while campers learn, grown and explore the world around them, and assist the Director and the campers with transition between activities.
Previous experience working with children and/or children with special needs is encouraged but not required. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and complete a background check provided by the church at no cost to you. Please send an email to melinda@brooks.org to request a Background Check Form and allow 7-10 days for processing. Description
Brooks Avenue Church of Christ created a ministry specifically devoted to the needs of families having a member with special needs out of a recognition of the uniqueness of those needs. We strive to provide accommodations in the church setting with professionally-staffed classrooms for students, various opportunities for siblings, and a support group specifically for special needs parents. We also have various community outreach events including our annual Spring Carnival, Summer Camp and Resource Fair.
