Puppy coaches are needed for classroom volunteers, working with Student Trainers from 1:45 - 3:45 p.m Tuesday through Friday. Or if you prefer to work with the dog only, then times are available from 8:30 a.m - 1:30 p.m. All volunteers working in the classroom with students are required by Florida statute to complete a background check.

Description
Our core program is offered at the Dorothy Student Thomas Center, a school for Exceptional Student Education within the Hillsborough County Public School system. This school serves as an alternative for students with extreme emotional and behavior disorders or other disorders that prevent them from attending a main stream public school.
While the focus of our programs is to help at-risk youth, we continue to serve people in need...because once the dogs are trained, they are placed with individuals in the community who have certified needs. These dogs go on to empower others through their service as a therapy or companion dog for those suffering from PTSD or anxieties and children with autism...giving them the chance to regain their independence and resume a more productive life.
