ORGANIZATION: WAVE Foundation at Newport Aquarium

Assist the Marketing Department in a unique environment with projects that may include research, advertising, promotions and events. This is an unpaid position requiring solid communication and writing skills.


Must be in college and majoring in Marketing or Business Management. Junior or Senior preferred.

Strong organizational skills for a fast-paced environment, attention to detail and well- developed verbal and written communication skills

Familiar with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook and general knowledge of the internet and social media outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Instagram.

Be engaging, friendly, courteous, enthusiastic and sincere.

Must submit a reflection paper at the end of the internship.

Must give a small 3-5 minute presentation to professional staff about what was learned during the internship.

15-25 hours per week; Minimum of 150 hours within 15 weeks.

Schedule - negotiable within Mon. - Fri. 8:30am - 5:30pm (May need to attend a few evening or weekend promotional events as needed).

Have fun while inspiring our guests to discover, explore, enjoy and protect our aquatic world.

WAVE Foundation is a partner with Newport Aquarium. We go directly into our communities to education on aquatic life and conservation. We have three pillars: Conservation, Education and Volunteer Opportunities. Our volunteers and interns are integral to our communities growth on understanding aquatic life and what we can do locally to impact globally.
