What is the Board's Role at KAC? The Board provides the guidance and support necessary for the Kirkland Arts Center to fulfill its mission, vision, and goals. Board members actively participate in areas such as finance, marketing, fundraising, and strategic planning.
We are seeking candidates who are generous visionary leaders with strong networks who are committed to KAC's mission and share our commitment to nonprofit excellence. In particular, we want board candidates with real world skills and experience in finance, business management, arts education, technology, legal governance or non-profit leadership. This is a tangible opportunity for a committed individual to make a difference within a thriving arts community in the Puget Sound region. Love of education, Kirkland and/ or historic building preservation are all plus.
Seeking Nonprofit, Civic, and Corporate LeadersJoin our team of dynamic leaders, visionaries, and arts enthusiasts and help Kirkland Arts Center continue to grow and thrive. KAC is recruiting for new Board of Directors members to begin in 2018, and hope you will consider this creative, engaging group the place to invest your time and talents. You will enjoy working alongside creative and collaborative leaders to provide the guidance and support necessary for KAC to fulfill its mission, vision, and goals.
Board Member RequirementsIdeal board candidates will have a commitment to Kirkland Arts Center and/or the arts, strong business or community affiliations, philanthropic interests, and a desire to serve and impact the Eastside community. Board Members commit to a three year term. They are expected to prepare for and attend at least 75% of the monthly board and committee meetings. Board Members commit to fundraising and giving annually at a meaningful level (greater than $1K), and bringing a table of guests to our annual gala held the last weekend in October.

Description
Since 1962 Kirkland Arts Center (KAC) has built a vibrant community through art. The Kirkland Arts Center houses the only non-profit gallery on the Eastside and provides the only Eastside venue for quality visual arts study across disciplines, ages and skill levels. It brings art directly into the community through outreach programs such as the Kirkland Artist Studio Tour, Artist in Residency programs in local public schools, satellite exhibitions and more..
