Compassus is a hospice company that serves the terminally ill and their families. The volunteer department is in need of volunteers willing to sit with patients and provide breaks for caregivers in Livonia, Plymouth, Westland, Garden City, Dearborn along with all of Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb.
Volunteers are provided with an orientation, TB screen, background check, and ID badges, all at no cost to the volunteer. We do ask that you are available for ongoing and one-time visit assignments for a minimum of one year. Your availability and commute time are always considered and honored.
Patients enjoy visitors who are friendly, share stories, listen well, and bring an overall positive presence to their home. Volunteers are NOT permitted to provide care, assist with toileting, or transfering patients from bed to wheelchair.

The people that make up Compassus are dedicated to compassionate care, clinical excellence and providing comfort and support to patients and their families with end-of-life issues. This includes our volunteers.
