Description : This is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors in the community. Volunteer drivers are needed to deliver free groceries to seniors once a month as part of our Brown Bag program. Volunteers will pick up bagged groceries that are ready to go and then deliver them to seniors in our program. Mileage may be tax deductible.
About Us : East Side Elders helps our seniors live full and rewarding lives - in the home and community they want - for as long as possible and as healthy and well as possible. Our teams of volunteers, students and community members provide a wide range of services and activities that give the necessary support and resources to our elderly neighbors wherever they call home.
Hours: One Thursday afternoon a month
Commitment: We are looking for volunteers who can commit to delivering groceries once every month and also on-call volunteers who can fill in when our regularly scheduled volunteers are absent.
Qualifications:
Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license and insurance
Volunteers must have their own vehicle to use for deliveries
Must pass a background check
Able to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds in a caring, courteous manner
At least 18 years old
