CHILDREN'S GROUP LEADER VOLUNTEER
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Children's Group Leader will engage in fun, interactive games, crafts and group social skills activities weekly to enhance each child’s development and self esteem.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a fun, exciting atmosphere where children can experience success and receive positive reinforcement.
Maintain consistency in setting limits for the children, using discipline techniques that prevent crisis and teach appropriate behaviors and social skills.
Problem solve with children to help them find appropriate ways to express their feelings.
Establish trust and a supportive relationship with children and parents.
Encourage positive family relationships and self-confidence.
Communicate with parents weekly, building and maintaining relationships and family strengths
Maintain strong communication with group facilitator or parent educator
Maintain weekly communication with Children’s Group Team Lead

Description
Shiloh House provides residential and educational services, and has developed additional programs in the areas of day treatment, outpatient therapy, and community outreach services (offering parenting classes and support groups) across 5 campuses that span from Centennial to Longmont.
In 2012 Shiloh launched the Beyond the Walls program, a community resource network for young adults ages 16-26, in need of support for academic, employment, and independent living goals.
Our approach is based on research and more than 35 years of experience creating an environment where wounds begin to heal, relationships are built or restored, and new possibilities are created.
