Join the special events team! This team consists of a group of volunteers dedicated to providing support for the work and mission of Family Building Blocks. The Volunteer Coordinator emails the team about once a month with an opportunity to volunteer behind the scenes (or on the front lines) at events or for various donation pick-ups in the community. Once the team receives an email about an opportunity, each individual replies to let the Volunteer Coordinator know if they are interested in volunteering or volunteers can pass and wait for another opportunity to arise. Joining this team provides flexibility so that you can only volunteer if you are interested in a particular project or if the date works for you. Special event volunteers support the work and mission of Family Building Blocks in such a special way!

Mission Statement
"Keeping Children Safe and Families Together"
Description
Family Building Blocks is the Relief Nursery of Marion and Polk counties. Committed to "Keeping Children Safe and Families Together" since 1997, our loving and dedicated team have provided a supportive parenting community to families with young children facing overwhelming life circumstances. With 10 locations spanning both counties, we are able to partner with over 1,200 children and 800 families each year. Annually, 99% of children in our programs remain living safely with their families, avoiding foster care and the devastation of abuse and neglect.
Our partnerships are free and voluntary. We are the only organization of our kind in our community. We meet families with young children where they are: physically in their homes and on their parenting journeys through Home Visiting, Therapeutic Classrooms, Parenting Education, play groups, and more.
