Are you outgoing? Do you want to get more involved in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease? If you answered yes, we need your help!
The Alzheimer's Association is looking for volunteers to help us spread the word about our newest national signature event, The Longest Day. You are invited to join The Longest Day Planning Committee where you will play a vital role in team recruitment and cultivation, as well as marketing and promoting the event. The Longest Day Committee volunteers are needed throughout the state of Nebraska. The Nebraska Chapter has offices in Lincoln, Kearney, and Omaha. The Longest Day is a unique sunrise-to-sunset team fundraising event to honor the strength, heart and endurance of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Held on June 21, the summer solstice, teams will complete 16 hours of an activity of their choice to raise awareness and funds for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association. Description
Since 1982, the Nebraska Chapter has provided education, information and support to individuals afflicted with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other dementias. Alongside 78 other Chapters and our Home Office in Chicago, we promote research for the prevention, cure, and treatment of AD. This mission is carried out by increasing concern and awareness, advancing public policy, enhancing care and support options, accelerating research, and growing revenue.
