Production Volunteer/Intern

The Arts of Life is a community of artists with and without disabilities working together to realize their full potential. We are currently seeking a Production Volunteer/Intern. This unpaid volunteer position is vital to our community and is an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant, creative group of adult artists. The Production Volunteer/Intern is responsible for working directly with our artists on a daily basis to createproducts that can be used for promotional reasons and to diversify our sales. This includes facilitating the creative process, teaching new skill sets, assisting with product creation, and keeping the studio in good repair. As the Production Intern, you will learn how to develop relationships and collaborate with artists who have developmental disabilities on a personal and professional level.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with studio staff to share your specific skill-set and technical expertise with the community
  • Directly supervise and collaborate with assigned artists, including, but not limited to the following: assisting artists with taking out and putting away supplies for their projects, providing technical assistance related to their product creation
  • Brainstorming with artists and help them to research ideas for new products
  • Assist staff and artists in studio upkeep, including, but not limited to: brush care, studio repair, meal prep and cleanup
  • You may also be asked to assist in printing, stretching canvas and matting, framing, and hanging work.

  • Demonstrate prompt and reliable attendance
  • Problem solve and work with minimal supervision.
  • Work in a spirit of mutual cooperation.
  • Show initiative, dedication, and creativity.
  • Have a consistently positive and flexible attitude.
  • Be able to assist all individuals served by The Arts to Life, Inc. studio
  • Be comfortable working directly with people with developmental disabilities.
  • Possess proficiency with a MAC platform
  • Enjoy group work and collaboration
