When you were a kid, did you have a trusted adult in your life other than your parents? Did you have someone you could count on to encourage you, offer a little guidance, take you to a game, bake cookies with you, listen to you, show up? We have a wait list of kids who want someone like that.

Youth Engagement Services (YES) Mentoring is a program of Catholic Charities Tompkins/Tioga. We are looking for committed volunteers who want to be important in the life of a child. Youth in our program are age 9-17 and reside in Tioga County, NY. If you are at least 18 years old, can pass a background check, have a reliable vehicle, and want to bake cookies, ride bikes, go to a ballgame, garden, hike, or just hang out with a kid, contact us today!

Description

Youth Engagement Services (YES) is a program of Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga. In partnership with Newark Valley High School and Spencer-Van Etten High School, we run an after school tutoring program for students who need a helping hand toward graduation. In addition, we facilitate an individual mentoring program for youth age 9-17 in Tioga and Tompkins counties. Catholic Charities Tioga Outreach Center includes a food pantry, clothing closet, emergency assistance, employment services, SNAP consultation, and Wheels To Work.
