Volunteering in Peru with comunnities

The Sharing dreams project organisation invites you to participate as a volunteer in our various volunteering projects and activities, working directly with communities in situations of extreme need and neglect, in the Central Andes of Peru.
We incorporated a small local organisation (with great goals of assisting others), driven by international and national volunteers. For the last three years, we have intervened socially in order to assist and improve the situation of people subjected to social, economic and cultural exclusion in the Central Andes.
We need people with a background in the areas of health, nursing, pharmaceutical or alternative medicine, to help us drive our project of preventative health, within communities or areas suffering from difficult economic situations. Cerro Hermosa is one such area, affected by large-scale migration and neglect caused by health conditions and deficiencies, malnutrition and deficient health infrastructure.
Come and participate in this non-commercial volunteering project, developed with the communities, and that focuses on self-management and working in teams in a collaborative flat structure.
During weekends, we organise group excursions to many places of interest such as camps, country hikes, mountains, villages, rainforests and waterfalls. We are a group of people that shares in what is best for a real and gratifying experience of social volunteering and cultural exchange. We do not represent accommodation organisations nor do we have ties with tourism agencies.

Mission Statement

Sharing Dreams Project is a volunteer-driven non-profit organisation that works directly with the most vulnerable inhabitants of the Peruvian Andes, and that runs various volunteer projects, focusing above all on improving the well-being of women and children.

Description

Sharing Dreams Project is a volunteer non-profit organisation that works directly with the most vulnerable inhabitants of the Peruvian Andes, and that runs various volunteer projects, focusing above all on improving the well-being of women and children.

We work directly with communities of the Central Andes of Peru (2009), where the neglect and need is great. There is virtually no presence of volunteering or state organisations providing these children with assistance, emotional, caring, educational or material support.

Come and participate in this wonderful cause, by helping to improve self-esteem that has been destroyed and by assisting with education. Many of the children come from dysfunctional migrant Quechua families that suffer from neglect and domestic violence that is caused by their difficult situation and economic, social and cultural marginalisation.
We are a non-commercial volunteering alternative that focuses on participation and operating a flat organisational structure.

We promote self-management within communities, as a means of organisation and development.
