Chair Responsibilities

  1. Soliciting new members and encouraging all current PAL members to bring new members.
  2. Sending new member packets to potential members.
  3. Following up on all potential new members with a letter and/or phone call.
  4. Sending annual Membership Dues letter to PAL members.
  5. Maintaining Membership Roster and emailing to distribution list.
  6. Sending new member "thank you for joining" letter.
  7. Coordinating with Marketing Chair and Board leadership to ensure all information relating to PAL memberships is current on website.
  8. Coordinate annual New Member event.
  9. Keeping a log of all new member solicitations to include:
    1. Name, address, phone and e-mail
    2. Date new member packet sent
    3. Referral (if applicable)
    4. Follow-up date and response
    5. Arrange for the presences of the Membership committee at PHS and community events in conjunction with the community events committee.
    6. Provide a written short recap of meeting results and decisions via email to the Board President

Mission Statement

The Pasadena Animal League of the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA (PAL) is an auxiliary of the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. PAL's purpose is to aid in the fundraising efforts of the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA by holding charitable events that benefit the shelter's programs. PAL operates under the not-for-profit status of the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA and in accordance with its values and mission. PAL provides a unique volunteer opportunity for its caring, dedicated members who share a love for the animals and a desire to support the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA and help to promote its important goals.

About PAL:

The Pasadena Animal League (PAL) was founded in 2000 and is the official auxiliary of the Pasadena Humane Society & SPCA. PAL raises money on behalf of PHS by sponsoring various events held within the community such as Yappy Hours which take place at various restaurants in the area. Biennially PAL hosts a unique dinner event, held in an upscale venue and featuring art/music. Previous events included Artistic License, the San Marino Motor Classic kick off and the Dog Days of Summer.
