Mission Statement
To end homelessness by providing affordable, permanent, and supportive housing to individuals and families in New Mexico.
Description
The Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico (SHC-NM) is a statewide nonprofit housing organization incorporated in 1996. Based in Albuquerque, SHC-NM is the leader in affordable, supportive housing for special needs populations in New Mexico.
SHC-NM believes in and practicse the Housing First approach. That means that first we house people and then make sure they have the services they need to be successful in their new home. We do this by providing affordable housing at our properties and by managing rental assistance vouchers for our clients at homes throughout the city. And we work in collaboration with many partners to ensure housing stability. This approach works and not only ends homelessness, it creates stronger neighborhoods and saves the community money.
