Changing Footprints is a Central Indiana based non-profit which collects, sorts, and donates shoes to local agencies such as Wheeler Mission, Dress For Success, Coburn Safe Place, Catholic Charities, and others, to help them help others. Every year, more than 15,000 pairs of shoes are collected by individuals, organizations, and stores and taken to our sorting room at 9302 N. Meridian. Individuals and groups sort the shoes during 1 1/2 - 2 hour sessions during both weekdays and weekends.
We collect all kinds of shoes, and give them to different organizations that need different types of shoes. The one type we accumulate... is golf shoes. They are in great shape, but we struggle to find organizations who need good, free golf shoes. But you can change that....
The few times we have given away golf shoes, it has been to IPS high school golf teams. We know they exist; we just don't have the staffing to contact 100 high schools and find the ones that have a program, and then visit their coaches to see if they would like free shoes. (Maybe help the players try them out, maybe give them a few tips on their swing?)
We are looking for someone who is outgoing, enjoys both golf and spreading the joy of the game, to "figure this out". If you are a self-starter who loves golf and loves helping others, wow, this is your dream opportunity. Call me. Bob Broughton 317-727-4186
If you want to make a difference in college and beyond, email us and let's talk. The room is at 9302 N. Meridian and you can bring your friends, pizza, play music, whatever, while you do good for the community and complete your school commitment.
FYI, we sort about 4 hours per week and can create a special session for you and your friends!
